SOMETHING SPECIAL – SONG, November 19, 2025

The following week, Tuesday night came as to be expected, and sometimes those days come with regret, and Hup rued that coming of Tuesday. Over the weekend, he struggled with how to present the remainder of Chapter Four to the Colliers and Middleton’s, beginning with verse 7.

“You ready for tonight Hup?” Cordia asked.

“Not really. I certainly appreciate why some ministers preach topically. If I could, I’d skip the rest of chapter four.”

“And move on to what? Chapter Five?”

“No, torment of separation will we find Chapter Five if we don’t know the depths of his love Chapter Four?” Hup answered. He took no pleasure in the reality that the Collier’s and Middleton’s were no different than many in mother’s church.

“So? If you think they’re not ready… stay with Solomon and do Proverbs,” she offered Hup an off-ramp.

“Really? Is that your off-ramp?”

“Yes – stay in Solomon and go to Proverbs,” she said, half-teasing, half-serious.

“Yeah – right, until I get to Chapter Six, and the Lord asks me the same question he’ll be asking us: How long will you lie there, O sluggard? When will you arise from your sleep? A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest— and poverty will come upon you like a robber, and want like an armed man.”

“Is that what you’re doing?”

“To me, it would be.”

“You’re no sluggard Hup. You certainly don’t slumber.”

“Yes, but I’d be letting the Colliers and Middleton’s return to theirs. What is it Isaiah proclaimed of God? ‘My children perish for a lack of knowledge?’ And what greater knowledge is there to know than the breadth, depth, height, depth, and length of Christ’s love? A four dimensional offering of love to be instilled into our three dimensional hearts?”

“Then don’t skip it – go for it my love,”

“No, you’re right hon. But this night needs something.”
