There are many who know ‘of’ God – notionally; that is, mentally and speculatively as an idea, but they don’t know God really – heart, mind, and soul with a mighty will to draw closer to Christ, as much as putting away and hating sin. To really know God is to know the exercise of his will in us through the presence of the Holy Spirit. This requires our willful surrender to his presence and instruction. At this point, there is a transitional change in reality, where virtual becomes real, and real becomes increasingly notional, unremarkable and unattractive. In essence, the kingdom of God becomes the real; longed for, and previously unseen substance of faith… the evidence of what truly is, was and always will be. Now, that’s finding it real.
