Crazy, Huh?

“Unless the LORD of hosts
Had left to us a very small remnant,
We would have become like Sodom,
We would have been made like Gomorrah.” Isaiah 1:9

Sometimes I wonder just how many folks actually believe and have an actual relationship with Jesus Christ. In the Old Testament and the times of Elijah, God told him that there were 7,000 that had not bowed before Baal. (1 Kings 19:18). Seven thousand of how many? Two million; three million? .0035 percent of a two million population? Of course, when we read of Noah, we find that only …eight people were spared at the time of the flood. There had to be several million that missed the boat and perished as a result of their sin. Come on, I certainly understand, if most people relied on a popular vote to say what is truth, that Jesus is not in view. Regardless that Jesus said outright that few would be chosen. (Mat. 20:16) What do we do with that? Do we think He was just covering His bases? If so, why would He do that? What did He see? Regardless, the same is found in my daily postings: I pay for a boost ($33.00) to reach 3,826 people, which results in 76 likes: less than 2 percent of those reached. I’m a retired, old guy who can’t afford this, but I know I have a ministry and as long as one is touched, my reward is in heaven. Nonetheless…

Actually, let me tell you a secret; something that I suspect. You know the Bible says that one third of the angelic host followed after Lucifer in his fall from grace because of his pride and arrogance and wanting to be god. Then, God in His mercy, provided a means of salvation to those humans that fell as a consequence of Lucifer’s fall. Thus I speculate, and indeed it is only a speculation, that the number of human beings that are ‘the called’ will replace those angelic beings who were cast out. How ironic! This total is for all generations, since the fall of Adam to the return of our Lord; thus accounting for the low percentage. What an irony to Lucifer’s rebellion, huh? That God, in His infinite wisdom and grace would redeem a rag-tag and sinful group of three-dimensional worms (sinners, such as we are, fallen at the seduction of Lucifer) to replace one third of his heavenly host, who will never know forgiveness or grace? Crazy, huh?
