When words are meaningless; such as when men pledge an oath, or promise their fidelity and then prove themselves to be unfaithful, what remains trustworthy of anything that they say or do? Must we catch someone in a lie to trust where they lay? Is there any integrity? Honor among sinners, really? Keep your words to a minimum and your actions visible for all to see. Jesus said, “All you need to say is simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ anything beyond this comes from the evil one,” and we know the devil is the Father of lies, and as that is his character, the same is true of his sons and daughters.
Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life.” Pontius Pilate: ‘What is truth?’ While men challenge the veracity of the Bible – it’s singular message – Christ alone, the Bible’s writing, collection and canon, what do I say? Look to your own circumstances for living, if not tragic proof – in our government, our marriages, our families… employers, yes, even our earthly ministers – the proof is there. Evil is here. Men are everything that Jesus was not – men either remain in their graves or in flowerpots (depending on where their remains were posited,) Jesus was buried and gloriously resurrected. Indeed, I say, if you want proof of the Bible being inspired… God breathed… look to what the Bible says of the nature of sin and men… the historical testimonies of the rise and fall of nations, societies and families. Indeed, the world itself is all the extra-Biblical support we need to know that Jesus is the Word, and is no lie.
