Millpond Ink Musing, 2015 – Powers Amassing
I was listening to Reverend Sinclair Ferguson this morning, and I was struck with his comment that during the days of Jesus’ life that all of Satan’s powers were amassed in the region. Sinclair mentioned ‘Legion,’ for example, who was possessed by thousands of demons; as if one was not enough! (Luke 8:26-38)
Again, fast forward to what we’re seeing amassed in the mid-east. Is it so strange? Oh, that’s right, many people; as well as professed Christians don’t really believe in the devil or demons. While they can’t explain the brutality, hatred and sheer horror of what is on the news everyday, it can’t be….well, you know…no, there must be something in the water.
Yes, there is something in the water and the blood, but it’s more in its absence in the world today and the lives of Satan’s surrogates that the violence is more and more exposed.
