No Doubt – SONG, November 22, 2025

“You know, when we started out our journey in the Song of Solomon, we started thinking about what it was to cry out, ‘Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth. That image created quite a stir,” Hup said and chuckled. That’s why many don’t spend a lot of time…

“If any,” Walter clarified.

“But we did,” Connie announced, looking at Diane and Ron.

“Yes, we did,” Cordia agreed and smiled. “Hup had his doubts though.”

“Yes, I did. I admit it.”

“And now we’re here. Do you remember when we talked about Christ’s love being better than wine? Do you remember when Solyma announced that she’d remember his love more than wine?”

“Yes, I remember Hup,” Diane said.

“Were they just words? Hup questioned all, including himself.

“Quit staring at me,” Bill said, as he quickly looked at Hup, which was held long enough to draw Hup’s eyes.

Everyone else at the table looked at each other in disbelief.

Bill turned and asked Walter.  “Listen, uh, does this place have a bar?”

“No, not a formal one.”

“Oh, that’s okay. Listen, not to be rude, but I couldn’t in good conscience partake in your communion, so what if I just wait outside?” He looked at Connie. “I’ll be in the car.”

Connie quickly looked to Hup and she knew she had to let him go without a protest. Hup smiled.

“It’s okay honey. You go.”  Connie said… her words carried an air of the Rose of Sharon and myrrh.

And with that, Bill stood and left the room. Bill looked at Ron, who started to stand up, but Diane touched his arm.

“Yes, well… if I’ve learned anything over my seventy-three years the troubling of waters often leads to healing. Shall I continue?”

Everyone nodded their head in agreement.

And now we conclude with the final verses: “A fountain of gardens, a well of living waters, and streams from Lebanon,” that is where we are brought to communion. The grace of God… his tender mercies all flowing from Gethsemane and the cross. The body of Christ – bringing us the sending away of our sins… and the satisfaction of God’s wrath… bringing us the peace of God that surpasses understanding.” Hup said and looked to Walter. “I know you have to add, bringing us into this room.”

“Me? Only, Awake, O north wind; and come, thou south; blow upon my garden, that the spices thereof may flow out. Let my beloved come into his garden, and eat his pleasant fruits, even as we partake of him, as his fruit.”

“North wind?” Connie inquired.

“The cold of chastening… what was felt just now by one of us.”

“Of course, we also have felt the warmth of the south wind, which stirred your compassion for your husband Connie,” Hup said that because he knew it was genuine, unnatural for Connie. She tended to push back more relentlessly.

“Well, shall we… ?” Walter said.

“You joining us Walter?” Ron asked.

“Oh, absolutely. Communion. That’s what we’re all about didn’t you know? I have no doubt – do you Hup? That the fragrances that we’ve shared and enjoyed here will leave with you?”

“No doubt, old friend.” Hup then took up the bread and broke it.
