Spiritual liberty! Oh, to be free from the bondage of sin and the flesh! C.H. Spurgeon was not simply an abolitionist who corresponded with Frederick Douglass in America during its greatest domestic conflict, but he wanted all men free! He wanted all men to possess the liberty of heart, soul and mind – regardless of class, culture, or color of skin. Not astonishing, those nations that worshipped God, through his Son the Lord Jesus Christ, fought the good fight to preserve the rights of men and the sanctity of life for all men were created equal.
