Healing But, The Heart Keeps Trace

Dedicated to my daughter in law and her family:

How long the darkness, how deep the night—
Before the break of dawn?
As light will crawl, then slowly rise,
To stand a middays sun.

How long the heart will mourn and grieve
Before its’ clutch release?
Spirit kindled—a flame is lit
And new life has begun?

The hands of time may sweep away
And clear a watches’ face.
But what is past is not removed.
Indeed our hearts keep trace.
